NOTE: This area of the website is under construction as I digitize writing from my notebooks. Following the completion of the LOGS section I am planning on a WIKI section in which I organize all the knowledge I have gleaned about the world of Modest Green Habitat.

Below, in reverse chronological order, are the notes and journal entries from my time attempting to decode the mysteries of the Radio. Some information has been redacted for personal privacy. Everything else is unedited.

4/13/2025

[Excerpted from journal] "...Found a cool looking old radio in the woods on a walk. It was in surprisingly good shape for being out there for a while. Definitely broken though."

[Excerpted from journal] "...thinking about cleaning up that old radio because it's just been rusting in the living room."

5/2/2025

[Excerpted from journal] "Really weird thing happened today in the afternoon when I was sitting in the living room, I started hearing crackling from the old radio. I assumed it was broken but I guess more waterproof than I thought! Also didn't plug it into power or anything so I guess its batteries still work? ... Going to try to clean it off and get more sound from it than just static."

[Excerpted from journal] "I spent a couple hours cleaning off the radio, it looks nice and shiny now but doesn't respond to me touching the dials or buttons. I thought static was a fluke but then a little while after cleaning it I heard more static while I was in the kitchen. Need to keep an ear out for it."

4pm or so: static
6:30pm: static, human voice? can't decipher words
11pm: static, voice. "thank you"?

8am: definitely hearing snippets of music. sounds upbeat but only half seconds at a time
later in day, forgot when: vague static

2:15pm: "PSA:" something?
more static in afternoon, on and off.
Going to stop noting static because it happens pretty frequently and is uninteresting.

Something that sounded like a news clip, reporter-y sounding voice. Couple of repetitions of the phrase E.C.O. Can't find any results that make sense for that on internet. Noting that signal is strongest when in direct sunlight, even though I don't see any solar panels or anything on it. Also when temps are warmer...? Thermoelectric??

Also, thinking about trying to get inside this thing. I can pry the top open a little to see there's no disc in there but am too scared to open any more. If I break it think about all the stuff I could miss?
Seems to be a standard Subaru(?) car radio from a few years ago. Clearly not anymore? Some kind of host device?
Heard more dancey pop type of music tonight. Very upbeat electronic, maybe not English lyrics



Modest Green Habitat is a speculative peek into a piecemeal future. All characters, organizations, and events are inferred through snippets of radio broadcast. Interpretation of broadcast information is subject to (my) human error and (the radio's) mechanical error. Future history is not a guarantee of future events.
